Recycle, Polish, and Dry: The Sector Duties

The vehicle services and transport sector groups car wash facilities, truck and bus wash bays, heavy equipment wash for construction and agriculture, vehicle workshops, fuel forecourts, and the transport fleet operators that run their own maintenance. Car and Truck Wash Water Recycling

A typical heavy duty truck wash uses 200 to 500 litres of fresh water per vehicle. A SorbiTech wash water recycling skid recovers 50 to 70 percent of that water for reuse on the next wash cycle, cutting the operator fresh water bill and the municipal sewer discharge equally. The skid stages a CPI separator for the bulk free oil and solids, a coalescing skid for the dispersed oil, and a sand or activated carbon polishing filter for the residual contaminants. The treated water meets the contracted reuse quality for the wash brushes.

Forecourt Runoff and Gas Station Interceptors

Fuel forecourts generate hydrocarbon contaminated runoff from spillage during fuelling, leak prone underground tank fittings, and weather event flushing. The SorbiTech forecourt interceptor stages a CPI separator sized to the canopy footprint and a coalescing polishing element for the dispersed hydrocarbon. The treated water meets the typical municipal sewer discharge limit of 10 to 30 mg/L petroleum hydrocarbons. The unit is buried in a concrete chamber with manhole access for the scheduled sludge removal.

Compressed Air Drying for Workshops and Heavy Vehicle Brakes

Vehicle workshops run pneumatic tools, vehicle brake reservoirs, and tyre inflation on compressed air. Wet air corrodes the air receiver and the brake distribution system, freezes in winter operations, and shortens the tool life. A SorbiTech heatless desiccant air dryer charged with activated alumina drying grade delivers the contracted pressure dew point (typically minus 20 to minus 40 °C) for years of service. The alumina sphere strength resists the fast cycling that breaks softer media into fines.

Fleet Fuel Polishing

Transport fleet operators with their own diesel storage face water ingress through tank breathers, microbial contamination growing at the oil water interface, and particulate from the supply chain. A SorbiTech fuel polishing skid stages a water coalescer, a particulate filter, and a bio guard filter to deliver clean dry diesel to the fuel dispensing pump. The avoided cost of injector damage and breakdown recovery typically pays for the skid within 18 months.

Compact Skid Delivery for Wash Bay and Forecourt Integration

Vehicle service sites are space constrained, the wash bay or the forecourt has limited room for treatment equipment. SorbiTech delivers the recycling and polishing duty on a compact skid that fits in a standard 20 foot container footprint, with tie in points at standard ANSI 150 flanges and electrical inlet at the standard site supply voltage. Installation by SorbiTech takes 2 to 5 days from site delivery to commissioned operation.
