Quality and Certifications

Quick Answer

Quality at SorbiTech runs under ISO 9001:2015. Adsorbent media ships with a certificate of analysis per lot. Pressure equipment is built to ASME VIII Div.1, PED 2014/68/EU, NACE MR0175 for sour service, NSF/ANSI 61 for drinking water, and ATEX or IECEx for hazardous area.

Standards Framework

SorbiTech quality is the documentation package that travels with every shipment, the third party inspection that accompanies every pressure vessel, the certificate of analysis that releases every lot of adsorbent media, and the codes that govern the engineering design.

Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015)

Medaad manufacturing runs under an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. PuraSpecs fabrication workshops run under an ISO 9001:2015 system tailored to fabrication, including weld procedure qualification, welder qualification, and inspection and test plan controls. The quality system is the foundation against which the operator approved vendor list audits the supplier.

Drinking Water Contact (NSF/ANSI 61)

Media intended for drinking water contact (activated carbon and activated alumina grades) are released to NSF/ANSI 61 eligibility. The scope covers GAC 1240, AA-201 defluoridation grade, and related grades used in municipal drinking water treatment.

Pressure Equipment (ASME VIII Div.1 and PED)

Adsorber vessels, separator vessels, and pressure equipment are built to ASME VIII Division 1, with U stamp on demand. European jurisdiction projects are built to PED 2014/68/EU. Third party inspection by TUV, Bureau Veritas, or SGS is included where the operator specification calls for it.

Sour Service and Hazardous Area

Sour service equipment (duty involves wet hydrogen sulphide) is built to NACE MR0175 and ISO 15156 with the hardness controlled welds and material restrictions the code requires. Hazardous area equipment is certified ATEX or IECEx for the contracted zone classification.

Material Traceability and Documentation

Every pressure vessel ships with mill certificates per ASME or EN traceability, weld procedure qualification records, welder qualification, hydrotest records, NDE reports, and the as built dimensional report. Every batch of adsorbent media ships with a certificate of analysis.
