Manufacturing
Medaad, the chemical manufacturing branch of SorbiTech Group, operates the production lines for the complete adsorbent media catalogue. Every line runs under an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. Every batch ships with a certificate of analysis. Bulk drum, big bag, and OEM sachet supply available.
From Raw Material to Packaged Drum
The Medaad manufacturing operation runs five core stages per product line. Each stage is controlled against documented procedures with batch level records.
Raw Material
Mineral, coal, and coconut precursors qualified against composition specification.
Production
Activation, ion exchange, and forming on dedicated lines per product family.
Quality Check
BET, crush strength, attrition, water capacity tested per ASTM methods.
Packaging
25 kg drums, 150 kg drums, 850 kg big bags. Nitrogen blanket for hygroscopic grades.
Shipping
Regional and international shipping with the customer Incoterms and export documentation.
Molecular Sieve Production
The molecular sieve line produces the four standard zeolite grades (3A, 4A, 5A, 13X) in bead and pellet form. The 3A grade is produced by potassium ion exchange of the sodium form 4A precursor. The 5A grade is produced by calcium ion exchange of the 4A precursor. The 13X grade is the sodium form X type zeolite with a wider pore opening. Specification testing covers water capacity, crush strength, attrition loss, and bulk density per ASTM D7099, ASTM D6175, and ASTM D4058.
Activated Carbon Production
The activated carbon line produces granular, extruded pellet, and powdered activated carbon from selected coal and coconut shell precursors. The catalogue covers the standard liquid phase grade (GAC 1240), the gas phase pellet grade, the impregnated guard grades for sulphur and mercury, and the powdered grade for sugar decolorization and pharmaceutical purification. The Medaad reactivation programme returns spent carbon to virgin grade activity in a rotary or multiple hearth furnace.
Silica Gel and Activated Alumina
The silica gel line produces the three colour indicating grades: white (non indicating), blue (cobalt chloride indicating), and orange (methyl violet indicating, REACH compliant). The activated alumina line produces the smooth sphere drying grade, the AA-201 defluoridation grade eligible for NSF/ANSI 61 contact, and the promoter impregnated grades for trace contaminant capture.
Carbon Molecular Sieve and Support Media
The carbon molecular sieve line produces the two engineered grades: the nitrogen grade tuned for on site PSA nitrogen generation, and the syngas grade tuned for hydrogen purification and biogas upgrading. The support media line produces ceramic and inert alumina balls in size grading from 3 mm to 25 mm, and the rubberised compression mats used for adsorber bed hold down.
Packaging and Logistics
Standard packaging is 25 kg drums, 150 kg drums, or 850 kg big bags. Drums are nitrogen blanketed for hygroscopic grades. Custom packaging is available for OEM and pharmaceutical programmes. For bulk supply enquiries direct to the manufacturer, visit medaad.com.
SorbiTech manufactures the complete SorbiTech adsorbent media catalogue: molecular sieves (3A, 4A, 5A, 13X), activated carbon (granular, pellet, powdered), silica gel (white, blue, orange), activated alumina (drying, defluoridation, impregnated), carbon molecular sieve (nitrogen, syngas), and support media (ceramic balls, alumina balls, compression mats). Standard packaging is 25 kg drums, 150 kg drums, or 850 kg big bags. Drums are nitrogen blanketed for hygroscopic grades. Custom packaging is available for OEM and pharmaceutical programmes, including stainless steel cartridges and sealed sachets. Spent activated carbon is returned to virgin grade activity in a rotary or multiple hearth furnace at 850 to 950 degrees Celsius. The reactivation programme reduces single use disposal volume compared to landfill or incineration.
