Vehicle Wash Water Recycling Skid
Compact wash water recycling skid for car, truck, bus, and heavy equipment wash bays with staged CPI separation, coalescing polishing, and activated carbon adsorption.
A Vehicle Wash Water Recycling Skid recovers 50 to 70 percent of the wash water for reuse on the next wash cycle, cutting fresh water purchase and municipal sewer discharge. The skid stages a CPI oil water separator, a coalescing polishing element, and an activated carbon polishing filter on a single compact frame.
Compact Skid for Wash Bay Integration
The SorbiTech Vehicle Wash Water Recycling Skid is the engineered solution for car wash facilities, truck and bus wash bays, heavy equipment wash for construction and agriculture, and fleet vehicle workshops. The unit recovers 50 to 70 percent of the wash water for reuse on the next wash cycle, cutting the operator fresh water purchase and the municipal sewer discharge equally. Payback is typically under 24 months at the prevailing water and sewer tariffs.
Three Stage Treatment Train
The skid stages a complete treatment train on a single compact frame:
- Stage 1: CPI oil water separator for bulk free oil and settleable solids
- Stage 2: Coalescing polishing for dispersed oil to single digit ppm
- Stage 3: Activated carbon polishing for residual hydrocarbons and odour
The treated water meets the contracted reuse quality for wash brushes and pressure washers; the small fraction discharged to the municipal sewer meets the regional consent on petroleum hydrocarbons (typically 10 to 30 mg/L).
Site Integration and Footprint
The skid is built to fit in a standard 20 foot ISO container footprint, with tie in at ANSI 150 flanges and electrical at the standard site supply voltage. Installation by SorbiTech takes 2 to 5 days from site delivery to commissioned operation. The wash bay continues to operate during installation by drainage to the existing municipal sewer during the changeover.
Operator Service and Lifecycle
Daily operator routine is reduced to a visual check on the differential pressure, a weekly inspection of the oil collection chamber, and a quarterly carbon polishing element replacement. SorbiTech maintains the spare parts forward inventory at the regional service centre. The SorbiTech activated carbon is reactivated thermally at the end of the campaign rather than disposed of.
Sector
